RHSAA
Homecoming Game (& Inaugural Alumni Event)
A wrap-up of the Tiger football season kick off and alumni event from the RHS Activities Director, Brent Mattix (Class of '92)
"The Oakmont Vikings didn't know what hit them. From the 300+ student spirit section (The Tiger Cage) parading out to the stands before the game, to the entire home side going nuts behind our dance team and cheer squad, to the 49-0 shellacking the football team administered on the field...it was a great night to be a Tiger. And, standing out the most, for the season's first home game was the large gathering of RHS alum, staged behind the west end zone, coming back to bask in the glory of being a Tiger. Over the summer, Football Varsity Assistant Head Coach, Tim McDowell (Class of '84), reenergized the football alumni base. Partnering with the student government program and RHS Activities Director, Brent Mattix (Class of '92), the football program sponsored a call back barbeque. The inaugural event was a huge success with over 250 attendees representing 8 decades of football. Many former coaches came back as well. A number of attendees confessed that it had been too long since they had been back to the school and appreciated the opportunity to return. One way or another, this event will come together again next season; whether it remains as a stand alone or gets combined with homecoming, get out your Orange and Black. ALL ALUMNI ARE INVITED: look for details to come out in the spring of 2023." - Brent Mattix '92
